About me

I work as a freelancer and webworker in the area of grafic (print) design and copywriting, occasionaly some web design, too. Most of my customers are from my native country, Austria. Currently I live with my wife in Thailand. 

My professional career so far …

While studying at Vienna’s University of Economics and Business Administration, I worked on a couple of Marketing and Art projects, together with Barbara Rett, Roman Picha and  Peter Wurm among others. Already back then I considerably enjoyed working with creative designers, photographers and the like. After completing my  doctorate (1997) I moved to Paris, France for about 2 years, working with programmers for an international  medical software company. Back then I discovered that putting together what I liked (working with pictures, words and design) with what I was doing (working with programmers and clients) - the combination would be called “internet”.  So I went back to Austria and started an internet company together with a friend of mine. So for the next couple of years we did quite a lot of challenging corporate websites.

“Couldn’t you also …?”

Some of my customers kept saying “well now that you’ve set up such a nice website for our company, coudn’t you also make us a lovely image broschure? We don’t trust our print agency that much …”.  In our company, we had a couple of web designers, but none of them would want to put their hands on print design … - so I gradually started to learn it myself and discovered the joy of doing things yourself, not just talking and criticizing (in my role of “art director”). It was fun and i kept on improving myself and refining my creativity.

No more winter, folks!

I’ve always hated cold showers and cold winters. After many years of telling myself “this was the last one”, I finally decided to move to Thailand with my wife, enjoying the perfect climate for me and my work. 

I just love it. And I’m taking cold showers now ;)
